Project Spotlight: A Room With a View

In this Beverly Hills kitchen remodel, designer Christopher Grubb took advantage of the spectacular views by incorporating floor-to-ceiling windows, while opening up the previously compartmentalized kitchen and laundry room into one large space that showcases clean and contemporary lines. The kitchen includes a Miele oven and speed oven in truffle brown, along with a 36” Miele stainless steel gas cooktop.

Clean-lined Downsview Kitchens cabinetry with a vertical grain maintains the desired contemporary aesthetic, while the Sub-Zero wine refrigerator with integrated glass door adds a note of refinement.

The goal of the project was to create one large space that would feel connected to the outdoors. The large windows allow the clients to enjoy the views and natural sunlight, and are respectful of the original architecture of the 1959 home.

In reviewing inspiration images, the clients were drawn to a crisp elegant and timeless look. To achieve this, they wanted a color scheme of whites and greys, but not pure white. Neolith porcelain slab countertops in Calacatta marble were the perfect solution to marry the desired white concept with the visual interest of veining.
